Toyota's Bounce Back After Disaster

The power outages caused by the earthquake and tsunami that destroyed northeastern Japan in March disrupted operations at all Japanese automaker facilities and damaged the plants of key parts suppliers. From March 11 to the end of May, vehicle production shortages jumped to 550,000 units in Japan and another 350,000 units overseas. In 2010, Fletcher Jones Toyota recycled approximately 6,300 lbs of recyclable paper. As a result of these efforts the following resources were conserved:

  •    54 trees
  •    1197 gallons of oil
  •    22,050 gallons of water
  •    15,120 kilowatt hours of energy
  •    315 cubic yards of landfill space 

Aiming to mobilize good deeds, Toyota is giving 100 new models to 100 deserving nonprofits, every day from May 9 to August 16. What we need you to do is spread the word and get all of your friends to vote.
