As Toyota becomes #1 in brand loyalty yet again (thanks, KBB.com readers!), the auto maker is also striking up huge numbers in California. As a state where hybrid cars are designed and dreamed up, it's no wonder Toyota Prius is such a hit. And there's plenty of cargo room in both the sedan and Prius-V model. But if you need a little more storage space, there's an answer.
Japanese company Camp-Inn has designed an extension of Prius rear hatch space - in a creative way. At the annual Tokyo Auto Salon (car show), they displayed a new kind of roof camper.
The device extends rear capacity, as well as protected roof storage, by 20 inches. With your Prius rear seating folded down, Camp-Inn claims "two can sleep in the top bunk, and with the hybrid's rear seats folded down, another pair can catch 40 winks below."1
Of course, you'll need to supply a Prius of your own, there are many at Fletcher Jones Toyota Scion - 3255 E. Sahara Ave in Las Vegas, NV. There will also be many strange, yet useful concepts, coming out of Japan at Tokyo's Auto Salon continues.
