In January 2011, Toyota formed a new division focusing on the advancement of safety technology. Known as the Toyota Collaborative Safety Research Center (CSRC), the team is dedicated to learning everything they can about how automobile accidents impact drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and other vehicles in order to develop new preventative technologies.
